The Challenge

Employers have a responsibility to pay social benefits, however, the current process for doing so is not easily accessible to the general public. As a result, there are multiple unconnected touch points in the customer journey, creating a whole bunch of challenges.

The Process

Phase 01
Discovery
  • User research to unveil needs, pain points, and relevant insights
  • Exploratory research (best practices, benchmarks, trends.
Phase 02
Concept
  • Low-fidelity wireframes
  • Screens design
  • Prototype concept design
Phase 03
Prototype
  • Prototype design to visualize key flows
User Research
According to my interviews, these are the three biggest pain points.
What did i find?
  • Most of them didn't know the laws that applied to them as employers
  • They have to monitor the payments to the employee in 3 different systems
  • Using excel to track all the employee hours and paycheck is time consuming
100%
Don't know if they are paying the right amount each month
75%
Rather pay in cash because the current process is too complicated.
Market Research
I look into 3 main fields to define basic features in my app. ( Finance, Shift Tracking and Insurance).
Design phase
I usually start the design process with low fidelity wireframes. This is the way I iterate through many design options quickly. With my wireframes I was able to clearly define the basic features and main user journey of the app.
What can users do in the app?
1. An overview of each worker's current status.
2. Clear and simple payment process.
3. Review the employee's shift history.
My goal was to make the app look more fun and lighter by using light colors and rounded corners.
Look & feel
Final design elements:
1. Using light orange and white as a base color
2. Rounded edges and circles for a friendlier look
3. Utilize the logo shape to create repeated visuals throughout the app, such as the icon and photo placeholder...
